AWCPO Goals
Goals: AWCPO strives to achieve the following goals:
- Empower Women to Advocate for Their Rights: AWCPO is dedicated to developing programs that increase access to education for women and girls at all levels, from elementary to postsecondary education. Our efforts focus on overcoming barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, cultural prejudices, and financial constraints.
- We seek to enhance the availability of comprehensive healthcare services for women, which includes family planning, sanitation, and hygiene. Our mission is to dismantle the social, cultural, and economic obstacles that prevent women from obtaining essential healthcare services.
- AWCPO aims to promote financial independence among Afghan women through capacity-building initiatives that equip them with the necessary skills for generating sustainable income.
- Recognizing the importance of addressing deeply ingrained social and cultural norms that perpetuate gender inequality, AWCPO is committed to challenging and transforming discriminatory attitudes and behaviors through advocacy, community dialogues, collaborative efforts, and teamwork.
- Enhance Education to Secure Futures for Children: Education is recognized as a fundamental human right and is essential for self-sufficiency, dignity, and developmental progress. AWCPO prioritizes girls’ education and actively engages in advocacy and lobbying to promote this vital right, enabling girls to become engaged members of society.
- Expand Organizational Income Diversification and Sustainability: AWCPO aims to diversify its income sources by seeking funding from international donors, local fundraising, and private sector partnerships, thereby accumulating sufficient resources to support its targeted initiatives.
- Humanitarian Assistance and Food Security: AWCPO is committed to enhancing food security by supporting diversification and local production of nutritious food. Our goal is to address food insecurity, particularly among vulnerable populations, including malnourished individuals and pregnant women.
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): AWCPO, in partnership with donors and stakeholders, aims to establish clean drinking water facilities and provide hygiene materials in girls’ schools. We are dedicated to facilitating access to sanitary and hygienic toilet facilities in these schools to ensure the health and well-being of female students, particularly in central and southeastern regions of Afghanistan.
